It is widely recognized that implementing strategies to increase student retention and student success are areas of focus for all institutions. However, a barrier to increasing these rates can often be attributed to a lack of student engagement, communication and the coordination of support services. To meet this challenge D’Youville has made a technology investment into EAB Navigate system which is an online tool to connect students to faculty, staff, and campus resources.

This technology will bring allow for faculty to participate in early alerts and interventions that will foster student success. This includes the ability to:

  • submit progress reports on students,
  • issue an alert to prompt the relevant office to work with a student when the concern or need for assistance is outside the faculty’s area
  • receive an update on the outcome of a student for which they issued an alert or progress report for.
  • review a student’s profile prior to a meeting

Faculty participation in this initiative will be key to improving retention, graduation rates, and overall student satisfaction. We will be announcing a training schedule soon and hope that you can attend! We are here to support you and answer questions that you might have.
